What it costs against what you burn

A 50-truck fleet doing 80,000 km a year per truck at 45 L/100km burns roughly 1.8 million litres. At $1.80 a litre that's about $3.2 million of diesel and around 4,900 tonnes of CO₂e.

Reporting for a year — baseline plus twelve months — comes to $7,240 at most, or $4,740 when the baseline is credited. Even the higher figure is about a quarter of one percent of the fuel bill, and roughly what one percent off your diesel would return in eleven weeks.

Fleet figures are illustrative. Your first statement replaces them with yours.
