FAQ

Questions we get asked

Do I have to report emissions by law?
Almost certainly not. The obligation sits with large reporting entities. What reaches you is commercial pressure: their reporting needs your numbers, and tenders score them. If nobody has asked you yet, the honest advice is to wait until someone does — and know who to call when it happens.
How much of my time does this take?
It's built around about 90 minutes for the first round: a 20-minute call, then pulling two or three exports. After that it's sending the same exports each quarter, or giving us a read-only login so we pull them ourselves.
My records are messy. Is that a problem?
No, it's the normal starting point. Fuel cards plus a tank, some paper dockets, a job list in the TMS. Where something genuinely isn't there we estimate it conservatively, label it as an estimate on the statement, and tell you what to start capturing so next year is stronger.
How do subcontractors and owner-drivers get counted?
Separately, and clearly. Freight you move with hired capacity is reported as its own line, because that's how your customer's accountant expects to see it. Where the subbie can give us their fuel data we use it; otherwise it's estimated from distance and vehicle type, and labelled.
Do you sell offsets or certification?
No. We measure and report. If you later decide to buy offsets or chase a certification, that's your call and we earn nothing from it — which is deliberate, because it keeps the measurement honest.
Can you prove the savings on the fuel programme?
That's the point of the baseline. We measure litres per 100km per truck before anything changes, then measure again against the same runs. Published studies of driver training on heavy vehicles report savings from around 5% to more than 10%, and results vary widely between fleets. So we don't promise a number: we measure yours and get paid a share of it.
What happens to my data?
It stays yours. We don't publish your figures, name you as a client without asking, benchmark you publicly or pass data to third parties. Details on the data handling page.
We already have telematics that shows CO₂. Why would we need you?
Telematics dashboards give a fleet-level number based on kilometres. What a customer asks for is their share, in their format, with the method attached — and for reefer fleets the fridge fuel that the odometer never sees. That gap is the work.

Worth twenty minutes?

If a customer has already sent you an emissions form, forward it and we'll tell you what it's actually asking for — no charge, no obligation.
